Race is considered in an issue of a rare type of breast cancer "basal like" is its name. It is stated to be true that young African American women develop this rare form of breast as oppose to women of any other race or older African American women. Researchers have discovered that this rare form can be due to genetics. The article talks about how Caucasian women are more likely to develop breast cancer oppose to any other race. In the long run there is no cure for this "basal like" breast cancer. The most common cases for this type of cancer were found in Africa. I believe that even though they have medications for the other forms of breast cancer, they also have a cure. They are not going to release it due to the fact that they will put the pharmaceutical companies out of business. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/07/health/07breast.html?ex=1307332800&en=1d7a132f193bce68&ei=5088&partner=

Breast cancer is a serious and sad disease that has affected many people’s lives. I do not feel that they have a cure and are simply “hiding” it from people to protect the pharmacuetical companies. I feel that people are working very hard to find a cure, unfortunately have found nothing. I do think someday breast cancer, as well as other cancers will be treatable, however I find it hard to believe that people in the industry of saving lives are hiding medication that could cure millions of people.
I do hope that if there are medications or cures for cancer out in the medical field that they are not hiding them. This is a very serious disease that many thousands of people are losing their lives to a year. I feel that people suffering physically and emotionally should be thought about before pharmaceutical companies going out of business.
